Quick update just so everyone who's fallen by the wayside knows where we're at right now.
WoW Legion - The last raid was released at the end of last year, and those of us who were playing at the time completed it on Heroic. A few have since taken on Mythic to varying success. Most have put the game aside for the time being as the content dearth between expansions takes hold, a few addicts are still farming. All things considered the expansion provided good content across its entire lifespan, interested to see how the systems it introduced are built upon and retooled in the next one.
Destiny 2 - Sort of fizzled and died after the second raid, a reflection of the overall Destiny 2 community. The game had some good aspects and was fun for a change (we'd never tried to play an FPS game as a group before), but it lacked in the longevity department and the first DLC was lacking. The second DLC is coming out in May, so we may try to rally some folks back to check it out, if only because everyone already paid for it.
There's nothing currently that "everyone" is playing, even by a constrained definition of everyone, and there really aren't any great candidates yet with all of the in-development MMOs still, well, in-development, and Battle for Azeroth still 4 months away. Based on a cursory look at the available options, it's likely we'll try to jump back into Battle for Azeroth in the Fall, as Legion provided good fun and a variety of content for a reasonable length of time (even those who jumped ship early like Borken, the slacker, got a few months out of it).
Battle for Azeroth Roll Call - If you're considering jumping back in come Fall, make a post in that thread so we can get a general idea and plan accordingly. I'll wait a couple months before harassing people on the various mediums and berating them about their poor life choices (including but not limited to not playing whatever it is we're playing).
In the meanwhile, we're still looking for other things to do, but here's a few we've been dabbling in:
Vermintide 2 - A group of us picked this up and have been playing it off-and-on, more are welcome. It provides solid quickplay with RPG style combat, lots of difficulty levels and combat varieties. Can be played solo or up to 4-player parties. Currently seems to be the best non-FPS option for casual multiplayer.
League of Legends - The same few who've played this over the years still play it now. If anyone new to the game is looking to get into it then hit me up and I can help alleviate the onboarding experience.
Fortnite - Eomen posted a thread about this on the forums, I think he tends to be on Discord or the Epic Games service. This is the current general hotness in the gaming community, something something Drake something Ninja. Minecraft meets PUBG, or whatever. It seems like a good drop-in MP game.
Divinity 2 Original Sin - Four of us have been playing this weekly and are nearly done with a campaign. It's a good game, mileage will vary on replayability, Chaco has played it a ton of times solo, whereas I have not. Don't know if there are plans for a second campaign, depends who expresses interest.
Paradox Stuff - We'll probably start another weekly Paradox MP game soon with the conclusion of the Divinity 2 campaign, on Wed-Thu around the usual times. Comment in the thread here if you're interested in joining that, we're open to including people new to the genre.
Other Stuff - Open to suggestions, swing by TS or post on the forums. Generally not looking at older MMOs to revisit, but anything with a low barrier to entry is a good candidate for some group shenanigans.
